Register now for the inaugural installment of METRO Magazine’s Public Transit Conference (PTC), which will be held in conjunction with the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky., May 7 to 10.

The popular and well-regarded GFX has met the dynamic needs of fleet professionals in the public sector for many years and is an ideal fit for PTC, which is aimed at public transit professionals.

Educational Stream and More

From in-depth conversations on how to run an efficient, forward-thinking operation to ways to ensure operational safety and more, this year’s PTC has you covered.

Kicking off the educational program will be a fireside chat hosted by TransPro Consulting’s Luke Allison, who will have some of the top names in the industry on hand to discuss how they are negotiating some of the hurdles they are facing to continue building value at their transit operations.

Meanwhile, the “How to Make Sure That You Protected Against and Prepared to Respond to Cybersecurity Attack” session will feature Scott Belcher, executive director for ACES Mobility Coalition; Todd Chollet, risk advisor and cyber practice leader at Sunstar Insurance Group; and Jeff Nelson, CEO and managing director for Rock Island, Ill.’s MetroLINK discussing best practices for ensuring your agency is both protected and can respond to potential cyber attacks.

Just added, PTC will also include a conversation on alternative fuels, featuring agencies that are on the cutting-edge of testing and using hydrogen, propane, and more. This session will not only discuss challenges and successes experienced by agencies when using alternative fuels but also how they are becoming better environmental stewards for the communities they serve.

Additional sessions include:

  • A look at what are some of the best use cases for AVs in public transit, as well as the possibilities for the technology’s growth now that manufacturing of the vehicles will primarily be concentrated here in the U.S.
  • How to recruit employees that fit your culture, as well as how to hold on to the people who are already part of your organization.
  • How to become an effective leader and how that leadership can change the lives of your team members.

A Great Proposition

In addition to PTC’s informative sessions, the conference also gives you the chance to take advantage of all GFX has to offer, including:

  • The Latest Products, Ideas, Innovations, and More on the Trade Show Floor: Get a glimpse of the future and a chance to talk one-on-one with suppliers on the show floor, which will feature more than 80 suppliers serving the public transit industry.
  • Networking Opportunities: From coffee breaks to after-session discussions, the show makes it easy to connect with other fleet professionals. A great place to start is with our First-Timer’s Orientation to get a better understanding of the event.
  • The Kickoff Block Party: The Block Party allows attendees to not only sign up to test-drive vehicles but also have fun in between learning thanks to a fun street fair atmosphere with food, drinks, games, and prizes.
  • The Chance to Soak up Louisville’s History: Surrounded by noteworthy attractions such as the Louisville Slugger Museum, 4th Street Live!, and the Mohamed Ali Center, there is no shortage of places to be during your free time. You also won’t want to miss the Networking Night on the Town for a chance to unwind and talk about the day with other attendees.
